Telegram translate bot alternative: translate automatically, inline
Short answer: translator bots such as Yandex Translate (@YTranslateBot) work by chatting with the bot or adding it to a group. That is fine for groups you control, but in a private chat with a customer you have to forward or paste each message. Translating inline in the client avoids this: Telegram's own translate button (free per message, auto-translate with Premium) or TGDesk, which shows translations under every incoming message in any chat, on all your accounts, with an on-device engine by default (coming soon).

How the Yandex bot works
Per Yandex's help page, in a personal chat you send text to the bot and get a translation back. Any participant can add it to a group, where it translates messages into the languages used by members; /tolang shows those languages and /setmylang changes yours.
Why inline is better for customer chats
- No copy-paste or forwarding, so no lost context.
- Nothing is added to the customer's chat; the customer sees only your reply.
- Works on every chat and account.
- Draft translation lets you reply in their language and check before sending.
TGDesk translation
TGDesk includes translation: enable it per account, and incoming messages show a translation under the original (kept intact, searchable). "Translate draft" converts your reply; sending stays a separate click. The default engine (Argos Translate) runs on your computer; a local LibreTranslate server or a model endpoint you configure are optional. It also works with OCR and voice-to-text. TGDesk is a paid app, coming soon, not affiliated with Telegram or Yandex.

FAQ
What is @YTranslateBot?
Yandex Translate's official Telegram bot. You can chat with it to translate text, or add it to a group where it translates messages into the languages of the chat participants.
Can a translate bot work in a private chat with a customer?
Not directly: you cannot add a bot to someone else's private chat, so you forward or paste messages to the bot. Inline translation in your client avoids that.
How do I translate Telegram messages automatically?
Telegram Premium can auto-translate whole chats. TGDesk translates incoming messages automatically for the accounts where you enable it, showing the translation under the original.
Does TGDesk send my messages to a translation service?
Its default engine runs on your computer. Cloud engines are optional and off until you turn them on.
